It is situated in the heart of Chaibasa Township know, area known as European Quarters. It is first property given to Fr. Augustus Stockman S.J. in 1868 the first Belgium Missionary of Chotanagpur.

At present it is the Pastoral Center of Diocese of Jamshedpur which caters to the training of catechists of the Diocese, conducts Marriage Preparation Courses, animates Krusveer, Small Christian Community, MAGIS, and Catholic Youth and is geared to be a center for faith formation of the Laity.

“JOHN DEENEY CENTRE FOR HO STUDIES” is the part of Divya Bharati which avails Ho Liturgical books, books on Ho Culture and Customs, Ho grammars and Dictionary.

Since 2006 Jesuits are looking after the centre. The first director was Fr. Fabian Bhuinyan S.J. succeeded by Fr. George Anthony S.J. and Fr. Cyril Tigga S.J.  At Present Fr. Anil Dang S.J. is the Director of the Centre.
